Thirty-two youngsters from Zion, St. Paul's Cave Creek, and the community enjoyed an exciting week of Day Camp held at Zion Lutheran Church during the last week of July, 2011. The camp was offered in partnership with Cross Trails Ministry. Four counselors from Camp Chrysalis with help from volunteers from both congregations explored what it means to live one's faith out loud. There were games, Bible studies, worship, songs, crafts, snacks, lunch and more. The week started out with an ice cream social on Sunday evening for all campers, their families, and volunteers. Then on Thursday evening, everyone enjoyed a potluck supper. After the supper, the children entertained their families with songs and skits they had learned at camp. The week long camp provided an exciting opportunity for all the children to grow in their faith and friendships with one another.
