World Day of Prayer Service
will be held at 10AM on March 2 at Zion Lutheran Church. The Service will be followed by a light lunch.
Zion on the Move
Five adult forums will be held from 10:30AM to 11:30AM starting on Feb 26. The forums will begin with news about Zion's soon-to-be new Pastor, how he was chosen and how to prepare for his arrival.
February Mission Focus -
Our special mission focus for this month is the Hill Country Community Needs Council. Special offerings can be made in worship or can be dropped off at the office.

Souper Bowl of Caring
The annual Souper Bowl of Caring will be held on Sunday, Feb. 5 starting at 11:30AM. Everyone is invited and bring non-perishable food items to donate.
Film Discussion
The film, Rabbit-Proof Fence, will be shown on Sunday, Jan. 29, beginning at 2:00PM with a discussion following. Everyone is invited.
New Council Members
Congratulations to our new council members: Dwayne Beyer, Denise Hawkins, Glenn Koennecke and Susan Otto.
Annual Meeting
The Annual Congregational Meeting will be on Sunday, Jan 15, immediately following the 9AM worship service. A Potluck Dinner will be served following the meeting in the Fellowship Hall.

Christmas Eve Services -
The traditional Candlelight Service will be observed on Saturday, December 24 at 6PM and 10PM.
The Messiah Concert
will be performed on Saturday, December 17 at 7PM. Come hear the entire Handle's The Messiah in the Fellowship Hall.
Church to Church Walk
starts at Bethany at 6:30PM on Thursday, December 15 and ends at Zion.
Christmas Program
The Sunday School classes of Zion and St. Paul will present their annual Christmas Program on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 9:00AM.

Advent by Candlelight
On Thursday, December 1 at 6:30PM, the Women of Zion Lutheran Church will present this inspiring evening. The public is encouraged to attend this event. Refreshments will be served.
Bible Study
Advent begins Sunday, Nov. 27. On the Wednesdays of Advent, beginning Nov. 30, there will be a Brown Bag Bible Study from Noon to 1:00PM in the conference room. Come and bring a friend.
Thanksgiving Service
at Zion on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 9:00AM. Come and give thanks to the Lord for all the blessings we have received during the past year!
Zion Women of the ELCA
Sunday, Nov. 20, is Zion Women of the ELCA Thank-offering. Please use the blue envelop that was included with your November Chimes for your gift.
Tree Trimming Workday
The Property Committee is having a tree trimming workday on Saturday Nov. 12 at 10:00AM.
Film Discussion

Pancake and Sausage Breakfast
On Oct 30, the Zion youth are sponsoring this fund raiser for Summer Camp and other activities. Serving begins after the 9:00AM service. The Fish Fry was cancelled due to the high cost of fish.
Oct. 23 is Commitment Sunday
Please bring your signed commitment cards for the offering. After worship there will be a brunch sponsored by the Stewardship and Fellowship committees.
Reformation Sunday on Oct. 30
There will be a bilingual German/English service - a great way to remember Zion's roots and to think about reaching out to neighbors who speak a different language.
Annual Fish Fry on Oct. 30 (cancelled)

A service for the Blessing of Animals will be held Sunday, October 9, at 5:00PM in the Zion parking lot. Come and celebrate all God's creatures. All are welcome.

The Hill Country Hike for Hunger Crop Walk will be Sunday, October 16 from 2:30PM at Marktplatz.

Special Concern for September
is the Good Samaritan Center. Their mission is to provide coordinated and affordable health and social services that minister to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the un-served and underserved in the Hill Country.

Rally Day is September 11
for adults and children. Come to the Fellowship Hall at 10:30AM to hear about our new Sunday School programs.
Fall Worship Schedule
begins September 11 and continues our one Worship service on Sundays at 9:00AM. The service will be followed by a coffee fellowship and Sunday School for children and adults starting at 10:30AM. See you there!

Dinner Celebrating Zion's Heritage
on Sunday, August 21 from 5:00 to 8:30PM in the Fellowship Hall. The dinner is hosted by the Call, Evangelism and Fellowship Committees.
The Special Concern for July
is the Fredericksburg Food Pantry. Monetary donations are always welcome as well as non-perishable food donations. The Food Pantry appreciates your efforts in helping to keep their shelves filled.

Summer Worship Hours
will begin on July 3. There will be only one service on Sundays at 9:00AM. The service will be followed by adult Bible study at 10:30AM.
The Special Concern for June -
is Zion Transient Ministry. Donations received through our special pew envelopes will go to support travelers who need help. Thank you for your extra gifts each month.
Pentecost Sunday, June 12 -
There will be a special service and celebration between services to commemorate the birthday of the Christian church. All are encouraged to wear red.
Day Camp (VBS) July 25-29 -
All children of the community ages K-5 are invited to attend this Day Camp at Zion Lutheran Church led by Camp Chrysalis councilors. Camp hours are 8:30-3:30 every day. More information is available in this flyer (link no longer available). If you would like to register your child for VBS, please download this form (link no longer available) or call the Zion Church office at 997-2195. There is a registration fee of only $15 per camper.

Question & Answer Session -
Pastor Mike Robinson, Assistant to the Bishop, will be at ZIon to answer questions on Monday, May 23rd beginning at 7:30pm. Everyone in the Congregation is encouraged to attend this special meeting on the Call Process to be held in the Fellowship Hall.

is Habitat for Humanity. The vision of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fredericksburg is to eliminate substandard housing in the greater Fredericksburg area by building and promoting high quality, affordable housing that enhances neighborhoods and communities.

is Saturday, April 16 starting at 1 pm in the Zion Lutheran parking lot.
Caregiver Worshop -
will be offerred on Saturday, May 7. The seminar is sponsored by the American Red Cross – Hill Country Chapter and will be led by Audrey Mayer.
The April Special Concern -
is the Gillespie County Ministerial Alliance. The offerings are used to help the Needs Council purchase gas and food for travelers in need. Thank you for your help.

The March Special Concern -
is for the youth programs at Zion. Your donations will send some of our youth to summer camp, help with the cost of Vacation Bible School and other programs that enrich the lives of our youth.

will be held on Sunday, February 27th after the 10:30am service. There will not be an 8:00am service that day.
Congregational Forum on Wednesday the 23rd-
On February 23rd, Zion's Council is planning a Forum at 7:00pm, where members will form small groups with Council members to share ideas that will strengthen Zion's ministry in carrying out God's Mission. There will be a catered dinner at 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Please plan to attend both events and let your voice be heard.
New Evening Bible Study -
A four session Bible study starts this Tuesday, Feb 15th at 7pm. The topic will be "Studying the Bible - Living Faith in Daily Life." Come and bring a friend.
WELCA Social Meeting -
The Women of Zion will meet at 2pm on Feb 13th in the Fellowship Hall for their annual Social meeting of the year. Peggy Janssen will review Spoken From the Heart by Laura Bush. Women of St. Paul, Cave Creek are the special invited guests.

will be on Sunday, February 6th following the 10:30am service. Bring non-perishable groceries for the Food Pantry and contributions for Meals on Wheels. Soups and desserts will be served.
